The Goliath is a large-format solid-state battery designed primarily for electric vehicles and cordless electronic devices. It utilizes an oxide solid electrolyte coupled with a silicon anode, which provides significant safety benefits over traditional lithium-ion batteries. These cells are capable of operating at higher temperatures, simplifying battery management systems and presenting a safer, more robust solution for energy storage. This results in a lightweight battery with high energy and power density, supporting extended driving ranges and faster charging times, which align with the evolving needs of the automotive industry and consumer electronics. Ilika has also established a Lead Partner Program for Goliath batteries, inviting OEMs and Tier 1 manufacturers to collaborate. This initiative allows partners to gain early insights into development progress, receive access to physical prototypes, and potentially influence the specifications of the cell.
